UPDATE: In October 2021 the City of Martinsburg, Berkeley County Council, and Berkeley County Development Authority announced an agreement-in-principle with Richmond, Virginia-based Monument Companies to remediate and revitalize the former Interwoven Mill and Perfection Garment Company sites spanning almost 12 acres of downtown Martinsburg.

The project will occur in three phases, delivering approximately 5,000 square feet of new commercial space and 387 market-rate units in the urban core of Martinsburg.

For more information, see the full announcement.

The Interwoven Mill Property comprises approximately 7.2 acres of former industrial lands, including multiple buildings, midway between Interstate 81 and Martinsburg’s historic downtown.

This privately owned property is a redevelopment priority in the City of Martinsburg, which has worked diligently with the owner to conduct appropriate environmental assessments, site feasibility studies, and cost estimates in order to catalyze and plan for appropriate future uses of the site.

The City of Martinsburg has sought relationships with federal and state environmental regulators, architects, planners, and redevelopment consultants to support the full-scale reimagining of these seven acres in the heart of our community, and welcome potential partners interested in learning more about the Interwoven site and its future.
